The History of Hebron Christian Academy

The school was formally established and constituted as “Hebron Christian Academy” on the 15th day of August 2000. Prior to this and since 1997, the school was managed by Reverend Gerrit Nel under the name of “Simeon Christian Academy”.

The original site of the school was a warehouse situated at 4 Lynwood Drive,  Mabille Park, Kuilsriver. The school moved to its current premises at 21 Digtebij Crescent, Mabille Park, Kuilsriver, during July 2000.This move was       necessitated by the sale of the warehouse and as tenants, the school was forced to find alternative accommodation.

On the 15th August 2000, the number of registered learners were 49.  Under the leadership of Pastor Stuart Farquhar, together with the sanction of all parents, the vision started to become a reality. The name of the school was changed to  Hebron  Christian Academy to herald in a fresh start during August 2000.  With a new management team and a fresh vision, learner numbers started to grow each year and we now have 171 learners enrolled at the school with a staff compliment of 22. The school originally utilized the “Accelerated Christian Education” (A.C.E) Curriculum which is a distance learning modular study programme offered by  the School of Tomorrow. The school management proposed that the curriculum be changed to the government’s “Revised National Curriculum Statement” (RNCS) in 2004 as it was more suitable for the diverse needs of our learners.
